I started cornet lessons aged 8 with the EA Music Service in Holy Trinity PS, Enniskillen with Mr Bob Quick and then later at St. Michael’s College GS with Mr Simon O’Hare. My practical experience really developed throughout my time in the St Michael’s College Brass Band and, after a time on trumpet with the Western Region Senior Youth Orchestra, I successfully auditioned for the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland and the Ulster Youth Orchestra. I joined a local community Band, Murley, and was appointed to the position of Principal Cornet. All of this ensemble experience was extremely enjoyable and really important as a young musician as it gave me invaluable skills both for brass band and orchestral playing.

In in 2017 I accepted a place to study Trumpet at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

Throughout my time at the RCS I have had the opportunity to play in many great ensembles, such as; the RCS Symphony Orchestra, the RCS Wind Orchestra, various RCS Opera and Musical Theatre orchestras and many more! I have had the chance to receive tuition from visiting artists and tutors who are some of the best brass players in the world.

I am continuing to work with the Ulster Orchestra and Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and am thoroughly enjoying developing my professional experience.

I am on a fantastic musical journey and have had some incredible opportunities and experiences so far and I am incredibly grateful.
