Music in May

EA Music Service (Armagh Office) welcomed parents and students to Craigavon Civic Centre on Saturday 14th May 2022 for a showcase concert involving over 150 young musicians.

Delight at the return of live concerts!

This event marked the long awaited return of music making and performing and brought the 2021/22 season to a spectacular close.

The concert featured the South Ulster Academy Orchestra, South Ulster Big Band, South Ulster Youth Band and the South Ulster Youth Orchestra.

The varied programme moved through popular classics, Jazz favourites, pop music and orchestral repertoire, with something for everyone and as always, suitably acknowledged with enthusiastic applause.

Harp Ensemble performs on arrival

On a glorious May afternoon the parents of all the young musicians were welcomed by the South Ulster Harp Ensemble who provided music on arrival in the foyer and proceeded to take their seats in the Civic Centre to enjoy a marvellous afternoon's entertainment.

Prizewinners

On this occasion the Music Service also included an awards ceremony to recognise student commitment and dedication. Well done to all our prizewinners!

Huge congratulations to all the young musicians and staff on a successful return to live rehearsals and performances, looking forward to a full concert season next year!
