Lagan Valley Christmas Concert

Congratulations to EA Music Service pupils and staff who provided a fabulous evening of entertainment recently in Lagan Valley Island Arts Centre, Lisburn.

Members of the South Ulster Youth Orchestra, Youth Band and Big Band presented a varied programme of light classics, popular favourites and festive tunes to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

A rousing Radetzky March performed by the Youth Band set the scene for what was to come, with the Big Band bringing the first half of the programme to its conclusion with a sensitive rendition of the Beatles Here, there and everywhere and had all toes tapping with an energetic Meglovania from the world of gaming!

Highlights of the second half, presented by the South Ulster Youth Orchestra, included the poignant setting of one of the most popular Christmas Carols, Stille Nacht, with proceedings coming to a close with the ever popular Christmas Medley Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson.

This concert was a joyous return to normality and we look forward to many more performances from our young musicians in 2023.
