IAYO Festival of Youth Orchestras

The City of Belfast School of Music string quartets combined forces for a performance at the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras’ Festival of Youth Orchestras over the mid-term break. The ‘Junior Chamber Orchestra’ led by Maria Woods, met in Dublin to perform in the historic National Concert Hall, under conductor Niall Catney. They provided an energetic opening to the Festival performing works by Telemann, Bach, Warlock and Zimmer. Our pupils were delighted to feel the buzz of playing in a concert hall once again.

It was a fantastic experience for all involved and we are very grateful to the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras for running the festival.
