Gala Concert at South Lakes Centre

South Lakes Centre, Craigavon provided a fantastic backdrop for the Southern Region Music Service’s recent Gala Showcase and Prize giving ceremony, bringing the concert season for this year to a rousing close.

170 young musicians, members of the South Ulster Youth Orchestra, Youth Band, Big Band and Academy Orchestra all rose to the occasion in front of a capacity crowd and showcased the extraordinary level of musicianship which has been reached through hard work in their weekly rehearsals.

We were especially delighted on this occasion to welcome the ‘Beat It’ Ensemble from Lisanally Special School who raised the roof with their ‘Samba Funk’.

The event also included our Annual Prize giving ceremony, giving us the opportunity to celebrate and recognise the endeavours and achievements of some of our young students.
