CBYO Online Chamber groups

The City of Belfast Youth Orchestra (CBYO) switched weekly Saturday rehearsals onto Microsoft Teams and divided the Orchestra into smaller Chamber Ensembles, CB and YO, for the recording of two iconic chamber music pieces.

The City of Belfast Youth Orchestra (CBYO) is the Senior Ensemble within the EA City of Belfast School of Music and the oldest youth orchestra in Ireland.  Throughout lockdown, CBYO has continued to rehearse, switching weekly Saturday rehearsals onto Microsoft Teams and dividing the orchestra into smaller Chamber Ensembles.  These rehearsals and our programme of online social events have provided valuable musical and social outlets for both our orchestra members and tutors.

Our string section divided into 2 smaller ensembles, CB and YO, to perform iconic Chamber string repertoire.

Orchestra members were delighted that their tutors joined them for these performances of the first movements from Greig’s Holberg Suite and Holst’s St. Paul’s Suite

Everyone couldn’t wait to get the opportunity to wear their Concert Dress again to perform and we are delighted with the results.

Our thanks go to our friends at the Flax Trust  who assisted with the creation of these videos and we hope you enjoy the performances.
