The Western Area String Orchestra is open to all pupils who have achieved Grade 1 and above. The membership fee is £99 per annum (family discounts apply) and weekly rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30pm.
This is generally young musician’s first experience of playing in a larger ensemble and helps to forge friendships, confidence and progress.
WASO perform at a Christmas concert in the Seamus Heaney Home Place in Bellaghy and perform at the May concert in Magherafelt / Ballymena.
The orchestra is conducted by Sarah Bell.
