Lisburn/Down Area Concert Band

Lisburn/Down Area Concert Band is an ensemble for woodwind, brass and percussion players from Grades 1-4 standard. Students rehearse and perform a varied and challenging repertoire of music from many different styles and genres, including original concert band music, jazz standards and popular music from the stage and screen.

This group rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm – 7.30pm in Assumption Grammar School, Ballynahinch.

Showcase concerts take place in the iconic Ulster Hall and in the beautiful setting of The Assembly Buildings Conference Centre, Belfast.

In early 2021, over 150 children and young people joined OBE Online and worked with tutors from the Music Service’s Dundonald office watching tutorials, rehearsing online, and recording videos of newly learnt pieces. 

Over 700 videos were uploaded, and a 20 minute ‘virtual’ concert was created.
