Belfast String Quartet rehearse on Monday evenings from 7- 8pm in the Belfast Boys' Model School. As an alternative (or in addition) to being part of an orchestra, the String Quartet helps students to play in a small group and hone in on their skills to produce chamber music from an endless list of repertoire. The String Quartet perform at many of our Informal Recitals over the course of the academic year.
String quartets recital
The Belfast String Quartets are made up of Year 8 and Year 9 pupils from the Greater Belfast area.
They usually rehearse after their normal orchestra rehearsals on Saturday morning or on a Monday evening, but this year were able to continue quartet rehearsals online, with an eventual return to in person rehearsals in the summer term.
We are really proud of the enthusiasm the string quartets bring to their music making and are delighted to bring you their end of year recital
